Some people think that working after retirement age should be restricted. However, others believe that continue working even after retirement is beneficial.

Discuss both views and give your opinion.

Although it is thought that people should not work after they retired, others argue that it has benefits. In my opinion, I consider that older people ought to continue to work especially because of its benefits to both individual and nation.

On the one hand, working beyond the retirement age may result in adverse health impacts on workers. In a survey conducted by the World Health Organization submitted that due to rising stress levels at work faced by the ageing population, who are forced to work exceeding their optimal capacity, suicide rates among them have been increased. Additionally, this often leads to the quality degradation of the work where they work because older people often have inadequate physical and mental strength to perform their task. If older people had worked across the country, that government would have faced immediately economic crises as a result of the low-level quality product.

On the other hand, delaying retirement enables individuals to actively contribute to society. On a personal level, working through retirement age provides an avenue for individuals to remain not only physically but also mentally active. Furthermore, this option allows the ageing population to be financially independent and economically self-sustainable. In countries, such as Malaysia and Singapore, citizens are given an option to work beyond their retirement age based on the demands of their job and their capability to handle certain tasks. Therefore, working exceeding retirement age empowers workers, ensures the economic improvement of the nation, and mitigates the hurdles faced by an ageing population.

In conclusion, while having troubles related to individuals life and quality of work, I believe that perpetuating to work after retirement age has considerable advantageous.
